3rd Public Open Source Conference KAK 2017 was held in Ankara Congresium between October 23-26, 2017 with the support and contributions of Mr. Mehmet Mirat SATOĞLU, Director of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. The conference started with the screening of the Pardus promotional movie. The opening speech of the conference, in which the importance of the conference and the details about the use of open source technologies were emphasized, was delivered by Mr. A. Arif ERGİN, President of TÜBİTAK. Prof. Dr. A. Arif ERGİN, President of TÜBİTAK, delivered the opening speech. The conference was also attended by Mr. Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, General Manager of HAVELSAN. Mr. Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, the Mayor of Eyüp Sultan Municipality, Mr. Remzi AYDIN, the Mayor of Pendik Municipality. Remzi AYDIN, Mayor of Eyüp Sultan, Mayor of Pendik. Dr. Kenan ŞAHİN also took the floor.

During the KAK'17 Conference, 450 people from the public and private sectors attended the trainings on open source technologies and current informatics topics in 6 different halls on the first day and 420 people on the second day. On the opening day of the conference, there were 24 stands in the foyer area and 550 people participated in the hall. PARDUS promotional movie was shown at the opening of the conference. With the panels organized on various topics, public institutions and organizations engaged in open source transformation had the opportunity to share their knowledge. At the conference, public institutions were informed about the open source technologies that they can use in their infrastructures and the National Operating System Distribution Pardus 17, and were given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with trainers and panelists about the technologies they will use in their institutions.

Pardus 17 project and its sub-projects were introduced by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Pardus Team in the demo area reserved for companies and visitors. On Day 1 of the conference, detailed information was given to the participants about "Pardus 17 Introduction", "Pardus Transformation Stories", "Pardus Enterprise Architectures", "Open Source Business Model".

Day 2 was completed with presentations on "Public Money, Public Code", "Open Source Transformation", "Pardus VDI Solution", "Red Hat and Open Source Technologies", "SUSE and Open Source Technologies", "Open Document Format and Libreoffice" and "PostgreSQL".

In addition to the topics discussed at the conference, "Pardus and LibreOffice Training", "Pardus GNU/Linux System Administration" and "Pardus GNU/Linux System Administration" trainings were given to institutions and companies that want to use open source technologies in the public and private sectors and individuals who want to improve themselves with the training program and certificates were presented to the participants.
