6th National Open Access Conference (AE2017)
The 6th National Open Access Conference (AE2017), in which TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM took part in the Conference Committee, was held at Ege University Atatürk Cultural Center (Izmir) between October 24-26, 2017 with the participation of around 325 people, hosted by Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTE), TÜBİTAK, Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) and Hacettepe University.
The 6th National Open Access Conference, organized with the theme "Open Science for a Better Future", was held in conjunction with a national workshop on open data as part of the OpenAIRE2020 Project. The conference focused on raising awareness on open access, open science and open data issues and what should be done to ensure the harmonization of open access policy, strategy, legislation, infrastructure and services in Turkey with the European Union. Mr. M. Mirat SATOĞLU, Director of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, made a presentation titled "TÜBİTAK and Open Science".
The following topics were discussed at the conference, which was attended by university rectors, academics, researchers, publishers, librarians, journal editors, research office staff and representatives of funding agencies, with the participation of experts and respected speakers from Turkey and abroad.
