The meeting, which was held at TÜBİTAK Feza Gürsey Meeting Hall with the participation of 350 people, was broadcast live on the internet, reaching a total of 450 journal editors, managers and publishers. The workshop started with the opening speech of M. Mirat SATOĞLU, Director of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, followed by the speeches of Prof. Dr. Çetin EROL, Member of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), on "The Strategic Importance of National Publications" and Prof. Dr. Yeşim GÖKÇE KUTSAL, Lecturer at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, on "Scientific Publishing and Editorial Mission".
Following the invited speakers, TR Index Experts Sibel TABANLIOĞLU and Mehmet BOZ provided information on TR Index processes, ongoing studies and methods, recommendations for scientific periodical publishing and TR Index Journal Evaluation Criteria.
In the afternoon, in the panel chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmet KIZILAY, TR Index Committee Members Prof. Dr. Nazmi ZENGİN, Prof. Dr. Hilal ÖZDAĞ, Prof. Dr. Yaşar AYDEMİR and Prof. Dr. Bünyamin ŞAHİN made presentations on publishing, research ethics and refereeing processes.
In the question-answer and discussion sections at the end of each session, opinions were exchanged on the problems of national publications. Presidency of the Interuniversity Council Associate Professorship Application RequirementsThe decision to include the definition of "article published in national refereed journals scanned by ULAKBIM" in the "National Article" article of the TR Index and the expectations from the TR Index, innovations, citation index were also discussed.
