TUBITAK International Scientific Publication Incentive (UBYT) Program Evaluation Meeting was held at ULAKBIM
The meeting was held on April 16, 2018 under the chairmanship of TUBITAK Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Murat Ar, with the participation of Vice Rectors of Research and Development Universities and appointed faculty members and Prof. Dr. Yaşar Tonta from Hacettepe University Information and Document Management Department.
In his opening speech, TUBITAK Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Murat Ar mentioned the headlines from the study prepared by Prof. Dr. Yaşar Tonta, which analyzed the 25-year data of the UBYT Program and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the UBYT program, listen to suggestions, create a common mind and revise it. Mehmet Mirat Satoğlu, Director of ULAKBIM, also made a presentation about the report.
Ardından Prof. Dr. Yasar Tonta hazırladığı rapor ile ilgili bilgi vermiştir. Raporda 2006-2015 yıllarını baz alarak %2’lik bir örneklem seçildiği ve bu örneklemde teşvik verilen Türkiye adresli makalelerin %40’ının Q4 diliminde, %7’sinin de dünya ortalaması skoru olan 1 ve üzerinde yer aldığını belirtmiştir.
Welcoming the views of the universities on the new UBYT Program, the participants took the floor and expressed their views on the subject. At the meeting;
- Continuation and improvement of the UBYT Program,
- Increasing the number and diversity of stakeholders consulted and inviting the Council of Higher Education to the meetings,
- Establish mechanisms to promote quality, productivity and continuity,
- Views such as taking into account the differences between fields were emphasized.
TUBITAK Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Murat Ar summarized the views expressed at the meeting, stated that the evaluation meetings will continue and thanked the participants for their contributions and concluded the meeting.
