The end-of-term meetings of the TR Index Social Sciences Committee and the Science Committee were held in the first week of July under the chairmanship of ULAKBIM Director M. Mirat Satoğlu.

Satoğlu opened the meetings by thanking the members of the TR Index Committee, who have contributed to the creation of a national database, which was initiated by TÜBİTAK in 1993, with increasing momentum until today, the realization of the National Citation Index, which has been targeted for years, and the improvement of the quality of national periodicals.

Prof. Dr. Ali Ekber ŞAHİN, Prof. Dr. Berna ARDA, Prof. Dr. Orhan YILMAZ, Prof. Dr. Ramazan GÖZEN and Prof. Dr. Zeynel CEBECİ, who served in TR Index Committees for 10 years or more, were awarded plaques for their services.

The meeting continued with the evaluation of the journals requiring a Committee decision and the review of the journal evaluation criteria to be implemented in 2020.

The first Committee meetings of the 2019-2020 term of office are planned to be held in September.
