The number of daily visitors to DergiPark, which serves under the umbrella of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, has exceeded 80 thousand. With more than 2 million articles viewed per month, DergiPark ranks first in search engines such as Google, increasing the frequency of visits from many parts of the world. On platforms that track the most visited websites by country and language, DergiPark ranks among the top 150 websites in Turkey, including news and shopping websites.
With DergiPark, researchers have access to scientific publications, while authors have the opportunity to submit articles to the most appropriate journal and follow the process. Publishers and editors, on the other hand, manage their journals in a reliable and sustainable environment and easily access expert referees to evaluate the articles.
The increased use of DergiPark has enabled academic periodical publishing in Turkey to develop in a quality and standardized manner. DergiPark, which provides access to almost all academic journals from the same platform, has created a transparent environment that leads to the recognition of ethical violations.
DergiPark Became a National and Domestic Brand
DergiPark, which has a wide usage area within the academic ecosystem, has turned into a national and local brand. While developing the ULAKBIM Journal Systems (UDS) used in DergiPark infrastructure, other journal systems in the world were analyzed, the infrastructure was designed to cover all academic journals in Turkey, and user feedback was given importance.
According to the results of the 2019 DergiPark user survey, the satisfaction rate with the realization of the DergiPark project and the services it offers was 95 percent.
The Reliable Way to Access Scientific Knowledge: TÜBİTAK DergiPark
According to December 2019 data, DergiPark has 1,909 journals, 410,885 scientific articles and 255,946 registered users. While these numbers increase every day, new criteria were introduced to DergiPark application and hosting conditions in order to prevent inappropriate use. In five years, 704 journals that did not meet these conditions were excluded from the scope and the technical infrastructure was strengthened accordingly.
The journals hosted on DergiPark have been classified as Active, Inactive and New journals according to their current issues. This categorization will remind publishers and editors of the terms of use of DergiPark and help authors to make the right decision when choosing a journal.
The Most Comprehensive Open Access Collection from Turkey to the World
The importance of Open Science applications is increasing in the world. DergiPark, which serves in accordance with the Open Science Policy established by TÜBİTAK, is one of the few open access collections in the world with 256 thousand articles. It ranks 11th among data providers to the European Union Open Access Platform OpenAIRE.
DergiPark will continue its services by constantly updating itself
DergiPark aims to put the innovations in information technologies at the service of its users with the new designs of the Journal and Article pages in 2020. It also aims to reflect the scientific performance of authors and journals in a multidimensional way thanks to its integration efforts with national and international information systems.
