During this year's International Open Science Week, celebrated with the theme "Building Structural Equality in Open Access to Knowledge", TUBITAK organized "Aperta Turkey Open Archive Launch Event". TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal attended the event as the keynote speaker. In addition to the launch of Aperta Turkey Open Archive, TUBITAK ULAKBIM Open Science Portal (http://portal.ulakbim.gov.tr/), TUBITAK ULAKBIM Open Course Platform (https://acikders.ulakbim.gov.tr/), Data Management Portal and Open Science Handbook (https://github.com/Open-Science-Training-Handbook/-Open-Science-TrainingHandbook_TUR) were also promoted.
The event was held online on October 26, 2021. The program started with the presentation of M. Mirat Satoğlu, Director of ULAKBIM, and Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, made a presentation titled "Achieving Together in Our Ecosystem with Aperta Turkey Open Access Archive". In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Mandal stated that "In TÜBİTAK support programs, we are trying to ensure that those who produce knowledge and those who use knowledge work together" and that open science should become a culture.
TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, who supported the event with his participation, said that Aperta Turkey Open Archive will increase the communication speed, sharing and production of our academics at national and international level, as well as at international level with different multidisciplinary centers, with an optimal impact. "Open Science and Equality: Developments at TÜBİTAK" panel was moderated by Ebru Soyuyüce Aydın with the participation of Dr. Mahur Turan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Taşkın and Dr. Güleda Doğan. Aydın stated that Aperta TÜBİTAK Open Archive, which was opened in 2019, covers the projects and publications directly or indirectly supported by TÜBİTAK and their data, while Aperta Turkey Open Archive was opened to all of Turkey and at this point, the two systems have been combined into a single national repository, and emphasized that free DOI support has started to be provided to the data uploaded to the system.
In his presentation on "ARDEB Projects and Open Science Policy", Prof. Dr. Mahur TURAN talked about public data and European Union approaches. Stating that digitalization is one of the priority issues of the EU, Dr. Turan said that this means producing data everywhere today and that economic growth is aimed by turning these data into resources that can be used. Economically, he stated that there is an increase of %1-1.5 in the gross national product throughout the year and an increase in value between 7-10 Billion Euros until 2030. Dr. Turan also mentioned the uploading of publications from TUBITAK Supported Projects in ARDEB to Aperta and the works to be carried out in the coming periods, and also mentioned the developments regarding the preparation of the Data Management Plan.

Prof. Dr. Zehra Taşkın In their interactive presentations, they first talked about the reasons for the creation of the Open Science Portal and stated that it is aimed to collect all the open science studies carried out by ULAKBIM so far in this portal.
Dr. Doğan Research Data Management Training Portal (https://acikveri.ulakbim.gov.tr/They stated that they prepared the Data Management Plan as a first study following the preparation of the Data Management Plan (DMP) and have been working on it since then, and that a new portal has been developed to facilitate the preparation of the DMP for researchers.
The Open Course Platform, which was developed to raise awareness on open science and related issues across Turkey, increase the current level of knowledge, facilitate the project processes of researchers and contribute to the protection of scientific content produced with public funds, was introduced by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taşkın. It was stated that in the system, where there will be many courses from how to use Aperta to responsible research and open peer review, researchers can register to the platform if they wish, take the courses, take the exam and get a certificate.
