The user training seminar, organized by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM DergiPark group, was held on December 2, 2016 at Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication Meeting Hall.

196 people attended the seminar in Istanbul, where ULAKBIM Journal Systems (UDS), the new infrastructure of DergiPark, which hosts academic periodicals in Turkey and provides process management services in electronic environment, was introduced and its use was explained.

In the training seminar, the DergiPark team explained the innovations offered to national academic journals with the first version of UDS, the roles of journal managers, editors, referees and authors, and all the processes from article submission to issue publication.

The meeting ensured that the participants took an active role in the development of the new system in accordance with the needs and demands, and enabled editors and journal managers to make direct applications on their journals. The importance of the forum page created for the DergiPark group and users to be in constant communication was emphasized.

In the seminar where DergiPark interface, journal home page, publication policy and editorial processes were explained one by one, great appreciation and support for UDS and congratulations and thanks to ULAKBIM DergiPark were conveyed.

While the interactive and user-friendly development process of UDS continues, the training seminars are planned to continue throughout the year in Turkey due to the high demand from DergiPark users.
