SUBSCRIPTIONS TO TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM ELECTRONIC RESOURCES NATIONAL ACADEMIC LICENSE PROJECT (EKUAL) DATABASES, WHICH ARE ACCESSED BY THREE MILLION RESEARCHERS, HAVE BEEN RENEWED.
Within the scope of TÜBİTAK EKUAL Project, ScienceDirect Freedom Collection, Scopus (article citation) and Mendeley (reference management) of Elsevier publishing house and Web of Science - SCI&SSCI&AHCI (article citation) of Clarivate Analytics, which have been open to universities since 2006 within the scope of TÜBİTAK EKUAL Project and whose license agreements expired on 31/12/2018, have signed license agreements to cover the 2019-2021 period. In addition, Web of Science - Book Citation Index (book citation) was included in the agreement during this period. We would like to thank Elsevier and Clarivate Analytics for their constructive contributions during the negotiations and licensing process, especially for the uninterrupted access to the databases.
ScienceDirect Freedom Collection, which has an important place in the world academic community, consists of approximately 2200 full text journals. In 2018, 17.5 million articles were downloaded from this database by the Turkish academic community and 6564 articles, reviews and proceedings with Turkish addresses were published.
In 2018, approximately 1.5 million searches were made in Scopus database and 8.1 million searches were made in Clarivate Analytics Web of Science - (SCI&SSCI&AHCI) databases. There are also 150 thousand registered researchers in the Mendeley reference management system.
ULAKBIM launched the TÜBİTAK Electronic Resources National Academic License Project (EKUAL) in 2006 with the aim of increasing national and international academic knowledge production, disseminating information services on a national scale, providing equal opportunities among researchers in accessing academic information and increasing the competitiveness of our country in the light of scientific studies.
As of June 2019, approximately three million researchers from 283 institutions have access to the content offered under the TÜBİTAK EKUAL Project.
