Built on the InvenioRDM developed by CERN, Aperta can store, search and cite many types of records such as articles, text, video, audio, data archives. TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM is also actively contributing to the team established under the leadership of CERN for the development of the new version of InvenioRDM.

As it is known, TÜBİTAK has demonstrated its commitment to providing continuous open access to scientific publications and research data by adopting the "TÜBİTAK Open Science Policy". The policy stipulates that publications produced from projects supported by TÜBİTAK must be uploaded to the Aperta TÜBİTAK Open Archive. The research data of these publications is proposed to be open access. Within the framework of Open Science practices, which aim to make scientific studies more transparent and sharing with the developing technology, research data will also be uploaded to Aperta in coordination with EU programs.
