The training seminar, held under the coordination of ULAKBIM DergiPark, started with the opening speeches of TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM Director Mehmet Mirat Satoğlu and TÜBİTAK Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Murat Ar. Satoğlu talked about the process of change DergiPark has undergone since its inception and the increase in its service potential, while Vice President Ar talked about the place of academic periodical publishing in the world and the importance of recording scientific research in our country within the framework of international standards.

DergiPark, which hosts approximately 2,000 national academic journals, ensures that all processes from submission to publication of an article are managed electronically with ULAKBIM Journal Systems (UDS). In the seminar, Author, Editor, Referee and Journal Management processes were explained to the participants separately through UDS.

On March 22, 2018, the training seminar was held in Ankara and was attended by approximately 200 people from various provinces of Turkey, the majority of whom were journal editors. The training was also broadcast live on the internet.

DergiPark training seminars will continue in different cities, especially in Istanbul, Trabzon and Izmir. The aim is to ensure the widespread and advanced use of UDS for the development of academic periodical publishing in Turkey in accordance with the standards.
