TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM is launching a new study to analyze the scientific impact of Turkish academic publications indexed in the TR Index in more depth and to increase the visibility of research. In this context, first of all, citations in Turkish open access academic publications in the field of computer science will be categorized.
The study aims to identify and systematize citation intentions using the Citation Typing Ontology (CiTO). It is aimed to better analyze the scientific impact of academic publications and increase the visibility of research by dividing citations into categories such as supportive, opposing, methodological, general reference and discussion. This method, which is similar to international examples such as Web of Science's citation context analysis, is a pioneering initiative for Turkish academic literature.
The data set to be obtained at the end of the study will be made available for open access under the CC BY (Creative Commons Citation) license, assigned a DOI and published on the Aperta platform.
We expect our researchers to contribute to our "Creating a Citation Context Dataset for Turkish Academic Publications in Computer Science" study by tagging citations at "atif.ulakbim.gov.tr".
