TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM commenced EKUAL Project in 2006, which has been used to conclude national license agreements for resources of e-information with high authority and impact and make these resources accessible to universities in Turkey and TRNC. The Project has been uninterruptedly conducted since 2006, getting new subscriptions as long as there is enough budget, with efforts to ensure equal opportunities in terms of researchers’ access to scientific information.
Today the EKUAL services are provided to universities through 10 databases and 1 plagiarism analysis software, and we would like to share our work to plan EKUAL subscriptions of 2018 for information purposes.
New EKUAL Subscriptions in 2018:
Wiley Online Library (2018-2020)
Nature Journals All (44 Nature journals) + Academic Journals All (41 journals) + PMJ All (48 journals) + Nature Methods + Nature Protocols (2018-2019)
JSTOR (22 unique package) (2018-2020)
ProQuest Dissertation & Thesis Global FT (2018-2020)
iThenticate+Turnitin Originality Check (2018-2020)
The negotiations for the above databases have been completed with positive decision on getting a subscription. We expect to get access to the databases through EKUAL as of 1 January 2018 after TÜBITAK’s Departments of Strategy Development and Legal Services complete their reviews. EKUAL database officials will later provide detailed information on the databases once these TÜBITAK Units give approval and license agreements are signed.
For the databases SAGE, CUP and OUP, we also made negotiations for a national license, but we have decided not to get a subscription as we could not agree on the terms.
Subscription Renewals:
The negotiations for renewing licenses of the databases EKUAL IEEE and OVID LWW have been completed and pur subscriptions will be renewed for the period 2018-2020.
