Efforts to Develop ‘SPECIAL’ Curricula for Students Having Special Talents Have Been Completed.

As part of 2023 Education Vision, Efforts to develop curricula for education of individuals having special talents are carried out at TUBİTAK ULAKBİM in cooperation with the Directorate General for Special Education and Guidance Services of Ministry of National Education.

The efforts to develop a curriculum prepared for elementary school, secondary school and high school periods starting from the pre-school period -a first in the history of the Republic of Turkey- were initiated in 2017 and have been completed. 67 faculty members from 29 different universities, as experts in their respective fields and education of specially talented students, and 80 teachers have been involved in the studies. 28 new curricula developed especially for the characteristics of specially talented students cover courses of pre-school, physical training and games, physical training and sports, information technologies and software, biology, geography, philosophy, science, physics, visual arts, life sciences, chemistry, mathematics, music, social sciences, history, Turkish language and literature, and Turkish.

It was decided to apply the draft curricula - which were previously presented to the shareholders and the public for their opinions, suggestions, and contributions - with the approval of the Head Council of Education and Morality on December 25, 2019.
