Within the scope of the project started to be carried out on January 3, 2017 with the cooperation of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and MEB (Ministry of National Education) General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services, efforts for developing education materials for the children who are in need of special education have been completed in April.
In coordination with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and within the scope of the studies where 42 academicians and 30 teachers who are experts in their fields participated, education materials for special education courses at various school types and levels have been developed starting from early childhood. These studies have been carried out in line with the special education programs, which were developed in 2018 within the scope of the same project and which are the first of their kind.
111 education materials in total have been prepared within the scope of the inadequacies in early childhood and preschool periods, the courses taken by the students with moderate-severe mental disability and autism spectrum disorder in the stages of I, II and III (elementary school, secondary school and high school), physical education and sports group courses for students with low vision/no vision.
It is aimed to develop communication skills, independent living skills, social skills and self-care skills of our children who are in need of special education and to ensure that these children are ready for life, self-sufficient and happy with the help of the prepared materials of different kinds like text books, teacher guidance books, activity cards, family guidance books and story books.
The materials approved as educational materials can be accessed through the ‘Özelim Eğitimdeyim’ application of MEB (Ministry of National Education) General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
