In the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between TUBITAK and Middle East Technical University (METU) in the second quarter of 2019, TUBITAK ULAKBIM MODSIMMER Data Center’s construction in METU MODSIMMER building is continuing in the white area and outside of it.
The outdoor area’s foundation which the mechanical and electrical components are going to be located is laid. Data Center which is expected to be come into activity in the second half of 2022 will host for the ULAKNET and TRUBA Search Platform which are governed by TUBITAK ULAKBIM.
ULAKNET provides services for entities more than 1100 and belongs to 235 institution which all states universities and some foundation universities, faculties and vocational schools related to them, Police Academy, TUBITAK agents; also public institutions such as Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM), Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK), Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), Turkish Historical Society (TTK), Ataturk, Language and History High Institution (AYK) and Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
TRUBA, is a significant National Research e-Platform which has a national strategic meaning and which provides direct service to more than 4000 researchers from 125 different research institution to contribute scientific studies, realized mutual projects with different public institutions and research institutes and participated in 15 European Union Master Schedule Projects as of taking into service of the platform. TRUBA which has high computing and storage energy is providing services today with its more than 25.000 calculating cores, more than 216 graphics processors, 14.5 Phyte high performance data storage area and 13M core/hours approximately in a month.
