Open Access Workshop 2015
In line with the developments and achievements all over the world, the 4th National Open Access Workshop (AE2015) will be held in Ankara on October 19-21, 2015, hosted by TÜBİTAK with the cooperation of Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS), Hacettepe University, Izmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) and TÜBİTAK. AE2015, which is organized to provide free access to scientific publications and data supported by public resources; to make these publications and data available through institutional digital archives; to discuss the policies, strategies, legislation, standards and software infrastructures required for open access applications, is expected to be well attended.
As it is known, the 3rd Open Access Workshop (AE2014) was hosted by ANKOS, YÖK, Hacettepe University and İYTE on October 20-21, 2014. Around 350 delegates from universities, public institutions, professional associations and publishing sector participated in AE2014. The Workshop was attended by Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Former President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Gökhan Çetinsaya and university rectors and the Final Declaration of the Workshop was shared with the public.
The AE2015 Workshop will feature local and international invited speakers who are experts in their fields and will focus on the following topics
- Open access and open data from the perspective of the European Commission
- Research infrastructures and interoperability standards
- Embedded open archives
- DOAJ and SPARC Europe what is he doing?
- Standard data model for research information systems: euroCRIS
- An international identification number for researchers: ORCID
- Strategies and activities of major publishing houses on open access
- Research data, open data and data management
- TÜBİTAK and open access
- Recent developments and good practices in institutional archives
- DSpace software and its effective use
The week of October 19-23, 2015, which includes the dates of AE2015, will also be celebrated with various events as Open Access Week around the world. We invite all researchers, academics, publishers, librarians, journal editors, research office staff and representatives of funding agencies to attend the AE2015 Workshop.
