In cooperation with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services, the development of curricula for special education courses was completed.
Special education aims to raise children with disabilities as productive and happy citizens who can lead their daily lives independently. In this direction, in cooperation with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services, studies were carried out to develop curricula for special education courses in various school types and levels starting from early childhood.
Forty-five academics and 43 teachers, who are experts in the field of special education, participated in the curriculum development studies, which were built on scientific foundations with an innovative perspective. During the curriculum preparation process, care was taken to ensure that the programs were sensitive to the needs of our children, reflected new developments in the field and were teacher-friendly.
Within the scope of curriculum development activities, curricula were prepared for the first time for all areas of disability for early childhood (0-36 months) and preschool (37-78 months) periods. A total of 29 curricula have been developed for the courses at levels I, II and III (primary, secondary and high school) for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. In addition, 3 grade-based curricula were developed for physical education and sports group courses for students with low/no vision.
With 34 new curricula, it is aimed to increase the quality of education services provided to children with special education needs. The curricula were submitted to the opinions, suggestions and contributions of stakeholders and the public prior to the implementation decision. http://mufredat.meb.gov.tr/TaslakProgramlar.aspx It has been opened for sharing via the address.
