Within the scope of the 2023 Education Vision, curriculum development studies for the education of individuals with special abilities are carried out at TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
The first of its kind in the history of the Republic, the development of curricula for primary, middle and secondary education, starting with the preschool period, which began in 2017, has been completed. In these studies, 67 academics and 80 teachers from 29 different universities, who are experts in their fields and in the education of gifted students, took part. The 28 new curricula developed according to the characteristics of gifted students include pre-school, physical education and games, physical education and sports, information technologies and software, biology, geography, philosophy, science, physics, visual arts, life science, chemistry, mathematics, music, social studies, history, Turkish language and literature, and Turkish.
The draft curricula, which were previously submitted to the views, suggestions and contributions of stakeholders and the public, were approved by the Board of Education on 25 December 2019.
