Within the scope of the project, which started to be carried out on January 3, 2017 in cooperation with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services, the development of educational materials for children in need of special education was completed last April.

Under the coordination of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, 42 academics and 30 teachers, who are experts in their fields, developed educational materials for special education courses in various school types and levels, starting from early childhood. The studies were carried out in line with the special education curricula developed in 2018 within the scope of the same project, which is the first of its kind in Turkey.

A total of 111 educational materials were prepared for all areas of disability in early childhood and pre-school period, for courses for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder at levels I, II and III (primary, secondary and high school), and for physical education and sports group courses for students with low/no vision.

With the materials prepared in different types such as textbooks, teacher's guidebooks, activity cards, parent's guidebooks and storybooks, it is aimed to develop communication skills, independent living skills, social skills and self-care skills of our children in need of special education and to make them self-sufficient, happy individuals who are ready for life.

The materials approved as educational tools can be accessed through the 'I'm in Education' application of the MoNE General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
