Transition to Editorial Manager System Continues at Full Speed!
Turkish Journal of Biology, Turkish Journal of Botany, Turkish Journal of Botany, Turkish Journal of Physics and Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, which are academic journals published by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, have completed the setup process and have taken their place in Editorial Manager, Elsevier's article submission and evaluation system.
Editorial Manager is a manuscript submission and evaluation system that covers the peer review process and is used by over 5000 academic journals around the world. The system is part of a new series of restructuring planned for academic journals published by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM within the scope of the agreement signed between TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and Elsevier in 2021. During this restructuring process, which covers both the reader access and application processes of the journals, in 2022, the Digital Commons platform, which offers instant download data of articles, hosts more than 600 organizations and more than 2500 journals in the world, was switched to and the website of the journals was renewed. The transition to the Editorial Manager system is the most comprehensive and radical change within this agreement.
In addition to providing access to the referee pool in the Scopus database, this new application and evaluation system of Academic Journals also includes a second module called ProduXion Manager, where the final control, typesetting and printing processes of the articles are carried out. Thus, articles are tracked and assigned in a single system from submission to printing without interruption. Together with Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry, a total of 5 journals have completed the transition to Editorial Manager so far. By the end of 2023, all 11 journals published by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM are planned to be transferred to the system.
TÜBİTAK, which first started publishing the Turkish Journal of Mathematics in 1994 and increased the number of journals by adding different disciplines over time, today provides researchers with a total of 11 refereed journals. Researchers from all over the world can submit articles to TÜBİTAK academic journals, which are open access, and access all issues of the journals free of charge. Scientific articles submitted to the journals are meticulously evaluated by the Editorial Board and referees consisting of researchers from universities.
