TÜBİTAK Open Science Policy was discussed and adopted at the meeting of TÜBİTAK Board of Directors on 14.03.2019.
The management, storage, archiving, compilation and digital preservation of publications and research data produced from projects carried out or supported by TÜBİTAK constitute the framework of TÜBİTAK Open Science Policy.
With the adoption of the Open Science Policy, the Green Road Open Access requirement was adopted and it was deemed appropriate to implement the policy in pilot programs in 2019 and in all support programs in 2020.
TÜBİTAK is committed to providing continuous open access to scientific publications and research data. To this end, TÜBİTAK is committed to making publications produced from TÜBİTAK-funded projects available in Aperta (https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.tr/), which serves under the name of TUBITAK Open Archive. It is recommended that the research data of these publications be open access.
To assist researchers in data management and sharing, TUBITAK launched the "Research Data Training Portal" (https://acikveri.ulakbim.gov.tr/) has prepared.
This important step in harmonizing the Turkish Research Area (TARAL) with the European Research Area will increase the visibility and impact of our country's scientific publications. By making data available for sharing, it will be possible to carry out scientific studies much more effectively and efficiently, to prevent data duplication, to keep the data consistent within itself and to access the data much faster.
We hope that the awareness and adoption of Open Science applications, which aim to make scientific studies more transparent and more sharing with the developing technology, will increase;
Respectfully announced to the public.
