The workshop organized by Ahmet Yesevi University and attended by the editors of Web of Science Journals with Turkey address was held on February 29, 2024 at the Presidential National Library.

The program started with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University, and Mehmet Mirat SATOĞLU, Director of TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM, addressed the participants with a presentation on "Quality in National Publications".

Stating that transparency is an important quality criterion in academic publications, Satoğlu emphasized that for a transparent publication, attention should be paid to data access and sharing, disclosure of conflicts of interest and analysis methods, and compliance of the research process with ethical standards.

Satoğlu said that knowledge and experience sharing, international and institutional collaborations, resource and infrastructure sharing are important criteria for a qualified publication.

M. Mirat Satoğlu stated that today, academics have started to prefer open access journals that provide open access and publish in a short time, and that open science increases social benefit, helps address global problems by encouraging collaborations, diversifies the scope of innovation, and reduces the likelihood of repetition of information.

Editors, deputy editors and supervisors of Web of Science Journals in Turkey also made important contributions by sharing their experiences at the workshop.
