As it is known, TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM High Performance and Grid Computing Center is a national center that has been providing high-performance computing and data storage to all research institutions and researchers in our country for nearly twenty years and is known as the Turkish National Science e-Infrastructure (TRUBA).

Thanks to its pioneering technologies, TRUBA serves thousands of academic staff and dozens of public and European Union projects with high capacity in its data center facility on the YÖK campus, and our existing data center has reached very high occupancy rates.

Considering the HPC hardware, data center technologies, cooling and electrical technologies that have developed over time, as well as the goals and needs of our country in this field, there is an urgent need to build a high-capacity data center that will accommodate new technologies and put it into the service of our country.

In line with these developments, firstly, the location of the new data center was focused on, and as a result of the examinations made, it was decided to establish the data center on the METU campus, and the "TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM-ODTÜ High Performance Computing Cooperation Protocol" was signed on April 29, 2019.

The contract for the construction of our project, which was meticulously worked on after the site of the new data center was determined, was signed with the company that won the tender on July 05, 2021. With this signature, an important stage has been passed in the realization of a facility that will meet the needs of our country in the field of HPC and beyond, and will serve for many years.

We wish that the construction of the new data center will be successfully completed and auspicious for our country.
