User management at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock is more secure with Engerek!
An EnGerek Identity Management System (IMS) contract was signed between ULAKBIM and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MoFAL) on June 7, 2016. According to the contract, the identity management of 64,000 users working in the ministry will be carried out using EnGerek QMS.
With the project, the identity life processes of existing employees as well as newly recruited employees will be managed through EnGerek. The automatic creation of user accounts, implementation of corporate policies, role management, etc. will be ensured in the business life cycle of employees from the moment they start working at the ministry. Password management, which takes a lot of time of information technology units, will also become more secure and easier. In case of frequent password forgetting, employees will be able to renew their passwords via SMS.
On the other hand, when employees are assigned to another unit or task within the organization, their unit/task information can be updated instantly from a single center in all information systems connected to EnGerek. In this way, personnel data integrity will be ensured between the systems of the organization.
In cases such as the retirement or resignation of employees, by closing the relevant account through EnGerek, their accounts in all systems will be closed and the formation of illegal accounts, which is a very important security vulnerability, will be prevented.
The concept of "logging" is very important for accountability in public institutions and organizations. In this context, all transactions made on EnGerek are recorded. Important records such as who was assigned which authorization, when it was assigned, by whom it was assigned are recorded by EnGerek and can be retrieved as a report at any time.
At the end of the project, the information systems of MoFAL will be integrated with the open source EnGerek QMS; user accounts will have a centralized and secure user management system in which employee information in all information systems is synchronized.
