The countdown has started for the second TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, which is the second largest aviation event in the world, with more than 550,000 visitors. The frenzy of TEKNOFEST begins once again in September to astound everyone.
TEKNOFEST, which aims to transform Turkey into a society that produces technology and started out with the slogan National Technology Movement, is being organized with the support of Turkey Technology Team Foundation, the Ministry of Industry and Technology and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as leading technology companies, public institutions and universities in Turkey.
Technology competitions are organized in 15 different categories in order to support young people working on future technologies as part of TEKNOFEST, which aims to create awareness of science and technology within the society and to increase the trained human resources of Turkey in the science and engineering fields.
Competitions for secondary school, high school and university students include categories related to future technologies such as flying cars and autonomous cars, as well as categories concerning current technologies such as rockets, unmanned underwater systems, and unmanned aircrafts.
Applications for technology competitions in which a total of over 2 million TL will be awarded to the winning teams will continue until February 28, 2019 at teknofestistanbul.org. Aside from an award of 200 million TL in total, competitor teams are expected to receive technical consultancy and material support for their projects as well.
TEKNOFEST has not only managed to be the most important aviation and technology activity in Turkey, but within the region as well. Last year, TEKNOFEST's competitors included drone racers from 25 countries, white hat hackers from 24 countries and technology entrepreneurs from 83 countries. Just like last year, foreign teams can also apply for competitions within the scope of TEKNOFEST.
