Within the scope of the studies aimed at increasing the quality of education offered to specially talented students, TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM organized the Third Workshop for the Development of Curriculum for the Specially Talented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop held between 24-28 September 2018 in Ankara, the general coordinator Prof. Dr. Uğur Sak, provided information about the workshop programme.
In his speech, ULAKBİM Director Mehmet Mirat SATOĞLU talked about developing a curriculum for the specially talented and other works carried out jointly with Ministry of Education, General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services. He expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the works and expressed his wishes for a productive workshop.
The General Director of Ministry of Education, Special Education and Guidance Services Ahmet Emre Bilgili stated that they are carrying out works to provide formal education to meet the needs of specially talented students. Bilgili emphasized that the curriculum will not be limited to pilot study by being applied in one school related to the research and application center and expressed his satisfaction with the studies carried out with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM.
On the second and third day of the workshop, Ministry of Education, Board of Education President Alpaslan Durmuş visited the workshop team and shared his experiences, opinions and suggestions.
Ministry of Education and TÜBİTAK representatives, curriculum developing experts, academics and teachers who are experts in their fields participated in the workshop during which the curriculum developed for the pre-school and primary school level have been assessed and revised with group works.
