“Scientific Publications Seminars” were held online on 23, 24, 25 and 30 June 2020 in cooperation with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM TR Index and Academic Journals.
Seminars with four different themes (“Writing”, “Refereeing”, “Editing” and “Research and Publication Ethics”) were broadcast live on ULAKBİM TV YouTube channel.
On the first day of the seminar, under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Muttalip GÜNDOĞDU on “Authorship”, Prof. Dr. Canan ULUOĞLU and Prof. Dr. Ali Ekber ŞAHİN gave their presentations on respectively “How to Write an Article and Things to Take into Consideration When Writing an Article” and “Choosing a Journal in the Article Publishing Process”, and answered the questions.
The moderator of the seminar on “Refereeing” was Prof. Dr. Mustafa YAMAN. In the seminar, Prof. Dr. Berna ARDA who is a Committee Member of TR Index gave a presentation on “Why is Refereeing Important and Necessary?” and Prof. Dr. Emine ÖZMETE gave a presentation on “Article Sub-Heading and Evaluation by the Referee ”.
In the seminar on “Editing” under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Nuh KILIÇ, presentations of Prof. Dr. Cem UZUN who is a Committee Member of TR Index on “How to be a Good Editor?”, Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul KILIÇ on “The Widespread Effect of Scientific Research in Our Country, and Assessment of Expectations from Our Editors, Referees and Journals”, and Prof. Dr. Orhan TATAR who is an editor-in-chief of Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences on “Relations of Editors, Writers and Referees in International Academic Journals: What is our situation in Turkey?” were carried out.
The last one of the “Scientific Publications Seminar” was held under the moderation Prof. Dr. Cem UZUN on “Research and Publication Ethics”. In this program, Prof. Dr. Canan ULUOĞLU, Prof. Dr. Berna ARDA and Prof. Dr. Ali Ekber ŞAHİN gave information on respectively “Research Ethics”, “Publication Ethics” and “Ethics in Social Sciences”.
Nearly 40 thousand people watched the programs on our YouTube channel, which programs were carried out with the leading scientists of our country and attracted great attention. As TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, we will continue to organize new training programs in order to contribute to the development of national periodicals.
